Nine of Cups

In Kabbalah, the Nine is the final step before Ten, the transformation and transition to a new level. It means completion, perfection, mastery, and an ideal for its level or class. Cups or Hearts are emotions, feelings, and memories.

Therefore, the Nine of Cups is completion and perfection of feelings, emotions, and memories. It may be any positive feeling brought to an extreme degree: delight, ecstasy, admiration, or reverence.

The distinguishing feature of the Nine of Cups is an extreme degree of manifestation.

Because of that extreme manifestation, the Nine of Cups often provokes a One or Five of Cups, just as lightning can provoke thunder and fire. In memory, the Nine of Cups appears as an often illusory ideal of perception.

Perfection of feelings:

• Self-control or good manners.
• Gentlemanly behavior.
• Behaving like a gentleman yourself.
